Over half of the children under age 1 (54.5%) removed from their homes and placed in out-of-home care had parental AOD abuse a condition associated with removal. The percentage for children age 1 and older (34.2%) was closer to the overall national average (38.2%).

Serving the United States and Canada, the hotline is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with professional crisis counselors who—through interpreters—provide assistance in over 170 languages.
